Red Sea Fashion Week: Radiant Red Sea Round-Up

A recap of Saudi Arabia’s inaugural Red Sea Fashion Week

Backdropped by the stunningly clear blue waters and crisp breeze of the Red Sea of Saudi Arabia, the inaugural Red Sea Fashion Week raked its sand for fashion enthusiasts to explore a new world of both local Saudi Arabian and regional designers presenting their latest collections in a harmoniously warm three-day event.

Headed by the Saudi Fashion Commission and residing at the St. Regis Resort, the RSFW invited a range of global and local guests to marvel at highlighted resort collections, with the hope of the development and elevation of the fashion ecosystem in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“This three-day event at the St. Regis Red Sea Resort has been a cultural exchange connecting local, regional, and international brands in the heart of one of the kingdom’s breathtaking natural landscapes. Our commitment to economic growth, sustainable development, and the promotion of local talents and creatives on a global scale is unwavering. The Saudi Fashion Commission is dedicated to fostering a dynamic ecosystem where creativity and business acumen flourish,” remarked the CEO of the Saudi Fashion Commission, Burak Cakmak.

THE SHOWROOM

When watching or attending a runway show, the first thought that comes to mind is the desperate urge to go back home with our favorite looks straight off the runway, the showroom at the RSFW gives us just that. Amongst showcasing the seven designers’ works presented on the runway, the showroom hosted 21 differing brands, including the Saudi 100 Brands, Egyptian lines, Moroccan labels, and Turkish garments, all of which could be viewed and purchased by attendees.

The enthusiasm of buyers from around the world who have witnessed the diverse resort wear showcased underscores the global appeal of this newly launched fashion week. Red Sea Fashion Week is instrumental in making Saudi Arabia a beacon of fashion and culture,” emphasized Cakmak.

THE DINNERS

As part of the Red Sea Fashion Week experience, an Arabian Nights dinner was set up for guests to enjoy, as well as a gala dinner to allow the opportunity for networking and further exploration of the fashion industry, and the opportunity for the celebration of Saudi’s diverse cultural heritage.

Cakmak highlights that “this initiative is a vibrant testament to our dedication to cultivating local talent and integrating them into the international arena, resonating deeply with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals of enriching our cultural fabric and broadening our economic horizons.”
