High & Low – John Galliano

The new documentary on John Galliano's rapid rise, fall from grace and journey towards redemption

Oscar-winning director Kevin Macdonald captured the life and career of legendary Gibraltar-born British designer John Galliano, widely recognized as one of the most influential and successful fashion designers of our modern era.

After dressing the rich and famous for almost 15 years while at the design helm of Givenchy and Dior, the genius fashion designer was sacked as Dior’s creative director when he was caught drunk on camera in 2011 hurling antisemitic and racist insults at bystanders in Paris, that caused outcry worldwide. Putting Galliano into the spotlight, alongside family members and former Dior CEO Sidney Toledano, Anna Wintour, and Kate Moss to mention a few fashion insiders, the documentary taps into Galliano’s private life, celebrated work, mental health and addiction struggles, and his long road to redemption.

The film premiered in London theatres on March 8th, just two months after his widely lauded spring/summer 2024 Maison Margiela Artisanal show presented at Paris haute couture week last January.
