Disfrutar

The awards ceremony, often likened to the Oscars of fine dining, took place at the Wynn in Las Vegas. Disfrutar in Barcelona claimed the top spot, moving up from second place last year. Helmed by chefs Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch, and Mateu Casanas, who honed their skills at the renowned El Bulli, Disfrutar is celebrated for its imaginative and expertly executed dishes like the caviar-filled Panchino doughnut and frozen gazpacho sandwich.

Following closely behind at number two was Asador Etxebarri in Atxondo, near Bilbao, led by chef Victor Arguinzoniz, renowned for its exceptional grilled cuisine, such as the simply prepared red Palamós prawn.

Paris also made its mark with Table by Bruno Verjus securing the third spot, while Madrid’s Diverxo clinched fourth place. Maido in Lima rounded out the top five, reaffirming the Peruvian capital’s stature as a premier dining destination in South America.

Beyond these top contenders, Spain emerged as the night’s biggest winner with a total of five restaurants on the list. Paris and Bangkok tied with four restaurants each, highlighting their culinary prominence on the global stage. The awards, determined by votes from a panel of over 1,080 international experts in the restaurant industry, reflect a diverse array of gastronomic excellence from around the world.
