Cannes Film Festival: The Best of Opening Night

ELLE’s editors round up the best looks of the opening night from the star-studded Cannes Film Festival’s red carpet

Once again, the most glamor-filled red carpet of the year is back along the coast of the ever-so-sumptuous French Riviera. Across the cobbled streets of Cannes and the Palais des Festivals, one of the world’s most recognized events devoted to artistic curations, the Cannes Film Festival, sets to explore the embarkment of videographic and storytelling genius.

That being said, although glorifying the international marketplace of everything bound with film and production, for those that dismiss the acquired taste of theatrical filming, Cannes means a day of lavish jewels and exquisite ensembles. A red carpet that sees Haute Couture and Pret-a-Porter at its highest level of craftsmanship and detailing for eleven days.

With the opening of the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival, which took place on May 14th, being the most indicative day of what’s in store upon the crimson steps, let’s take a look at the best of the opening of the Cannes Film Festival.
